In organizations the quantity and quality of cognitive behaviors - those associated with the activities of thinking, learning, problem solving, and decision making - produce a dramatic impact on productivity, performance and potential for growth.

The Cognitive Style Inventory provides a basis for identifying the patterns of behavior that are typical of people's approaches to these critical activities.

The instrument identifies cognitive styles that imply preferred patterns of responses that are both habitual and unconscious as well as deliberate. This assessment can help HR and  L&D professionals

  • Help people to understand their own cognitive styles and to understand the benefits as well as the drawbacks of all cognitive styles.

  • Help people to predict their own behaviors as well as those of others with regard to thinking, learning and problem solving.

  • Prescribe developmental strategies that people can use to enhance their own cognitive styles and build strengths in styles that they do not usually use.

  • Increase people's skills and flexibility in various problem solving situations.

  • Facilitate the interactions between individuals and groups.
